About Kassian

Hi,

I've been an ESL instructor for more than 2 decades -having taught at universities, colleges, and language schools in various locations across South and North America. What's more, I've been an IELTS instructor since 2014. In addition, I'm a current IELTS Speaking examiner (since January 2018; 4 years), having spent 1 year as a full-time speaking examiner in Punjab, India (mostly in Jalandhar), where I examined well above 3,500 candidates. I was also an IELTS Administrator for Bow Valley College in Calgary, Alberta, which means I have a thorough insight of the whole test -including the nuances of how and why every component of this test is marked the way it is.

Spending these many years as a teacher has also taught me to fit and adapt to very many types of learners and learning styles. I am very eloquent and can very easily explain concepts to a wide variety of people.

I think you would agree that there are very few individuals out there with the amount of relevant IELTS experience and English language capabilities that I possess. I am someone who can give you a thorough understanding of this test, as well as the best available practical tools for the improvement of your test-taking and English language skills.

About the lesson

After more than 20 years of ESL teaching experience and 4 years as an IELTS speaking examiner (of which one year I spent in the Punjab, India), as well as having been an IELTS Administrator, I have acquired vast teaching and evaluation experience which I have learned to efficiently share with my students -and most importantly, get them to apply this knowledge well.

My lessons are adapted to each individual's needs. Some students may require focusing more on one particular aspect of the test (e.g. Writing), while others may have to spend equal amounts of time on all 4 components. On a typical class day, we study 2 modules (e.g. Listening and Speaking) while spending about 45 minutes on each (a total of 1 1/2 hours).

My classes are for anyone who is looking to improve their IELTS test-taking skills as well as their overall English language capabilities, including their grammar and vocabulary.
