About Esther

- What kind of experience do you have?

I have been teaching for 14 years. I take my students through ABRSM and Trinity exams both recorded and in person. I also prepare students for music aptitude tests for secondary schools.

I teach and have knowledge of a wide range of reportoire in genres such as folk, classical, pop, blues, jazz and more. So if you just want to play for fun I can make sure to keep you busy with lots of music to get your teeth into.

Along with my partner I set up St Albans String Tuition in 2015 and we teach a wide variety of instruments, mainly from our home in St Albans.

I also have many years experience in performing. I first picked up a violin aged 3 and have been trying to get people to listen to me play ever since. My most recent projects have been playing as part of an Irish folk band, performing at functions as a string duo, doing a run at the Edinburgh Festival as part of a band with a poet and as part of a string orchestra for a Bristol Old Vic production of Coram Boy.

I also teach in a primary school where I multiple violin and viola students and run 2 orchestras.

Esther has been teaching my daughter for a few months, and she has made great progress. She makes learning fun for the student and very clear to the parent on what to practice and how to monitor the child's practice.
I highly recommend Esther as a teacher.
