About Jacqueline

Previous international customer service administrator, I am now full-time mother of two bilingual daughters. I am very excited to work with new pupils using the method, which has worked with my daughters, along with other techniques that I have acquired, to learn other European languages, throughout my studies and professional career in business.

About the lesson

My teaching method is to learn by doing, so I expect my pupils to be willing to start participating immediately, no matter their level, in listening and talking in the foreign language. I believe in immersion in the language chosen.
I would base my class on fun activities with an interaction between pupils, as when relaxed and entertained, my experience has shown me that the brain functions to its best ability without inhibition, hence learning faster and easier a foreign language. As for a one to one, I would definitely start with more casual conversation to break the ice, allowing the pupil to focus more on the content of the conversation than on its form.
I would approach each topic using different tools and media/ platforms to cater for all language's levels and various learning methods present in the class, as everybody has their own learning technique. So, for a given topic, I would always give first the theory, an example, an exercise, an explanation in the pupil's own tongue (obviously only if spoken, ideally in English) and then I would give some fun facts and/ or if known, more specificities linked to the local culture. Ideally, I would always include a game, song or other interesting activity, allowing the pupil to practise the newly acquired skill/ with the new knowledge, in a more casual way.
