About Suri
My interest in Excel began during my undergraduate studies when I realized its potential for organizing data, analyzing trends, and presenting insights in a professional and clear manner. This interest led me to pursue a Master’s degree in Information Technology, focusing on data management, analysis, and automation. Over the past 8 years, I have taught students and professionals at various levels, from beginners learning basic functions to advanced users developing macros and financial models. My teaching approach emphasizes clarity, structured learning, and practical application, helping students understand how Excel works conceptually and functionally.
I prioritize creating lessons that are hands-on, interactive, and tailored to each student’s skill level. Beginners gain confidence through step-by-step guidance, clear examples, and practice exercises. Intermediate learners develop analytical thinking, problem-solving strategies, and efficient workflow practices. Advanced students refine their skills in automation, advanced functions, modeling, and visualization, building both competence and creativity. I encourage students to explore features, ask questions freely, and apply their knowledge to realistic scenarios, fostering independence and critical thinking.
Beyond teaching, I constantly update my knowledge by exploring Excel’s latest features, business applications, and data analysis trends. Integrating these insights into lessons allows students to connect classroom learning with real-world applications. Witnessing students transform from hesitant users to confident, skilled practitioners is deeply fulfilling. My ultimate goal is to equip learners with practical Excel skills, analytical abilities, and the confidence to handle complex data-driven tasks effectively in any context.

Intermediate learners explore advanced formulas, lookup functions, pivot tables, charts, data validation, and basic automation to improve efficiency and problem-solving skills. Advanced learners focus on macros, financial modeling, statistical analysis, dashboards, and workflow optimization, enabling them to handle complex business and academic tasks with confidence.
I emphasize practical application in each session. Students work on exercises reflecting realistic scenarios, allowing them to apply formulas, organize data efficiently, and interpret results. Lessons are tailored to individual learning styles, whether through visual explanations, step-by-step demonstrations, or guided practice exercises. I encourage active participation, experimentation, and iterative learning, helping students gain not only technical proficiency but also a strategic understanding of how Excel can support analytical thinking, decision-making, and workflow optimization in real-world contexts.
