About Fiona
My interest in Excel developed from a desire to organise, analyse, and present information effectively. I earned a Bachelor’s in Information Technology, gaining practical experience in spreadsheets, reporting, and data tools. Over 6 years, I have taught students and professionals to master Excel with patience and clarity, helping them gain skills applicable in academics, business, and daily life.
I emphasise learning through clear explanations, stepwise demonstrations, and practical examples. My teaching approach helps students understand each function, formula, and workflow thoroughly. I encourage practice, questions, and application, building their confidence to tackle real-world data challenges. Each student receives individual guidance to ensure consistent progress and competence.
Outside teaching, I continue exploring new Excel functions, data visualisation tools, and automation techniques. This keeps my lessons current and valuable. Teaching Excel is rewarding because I see students become more confident, organised, and skilled in managing data. Helping learners gain practical expertise and see tangible results from their efforts is one of the most satisfying parts of my work.

Excel becomes powerful when students learn to combine tools, formulae, and practical applications efficiently. My lessons cover data entry, formatting, charts, pivot tables, functions, and reporting in simple, structured steps. I focus on helping learners understand the logic behind formulae, the use of functions, and creating accurate and meaningful reports. Each session includes real-life examples, exercises, and interactive tasks that demonstrate Excel’s practical utility. The lessons are designed to be supportive and engaging, encouraging learners to explore, practise, and gain confidence in handling data tasks.
Lessons are customised based on student experience. Beginners focus on navigation, basic functions, formatting, and simple calculations. Intermediate learners work on conditional formatting, logical formulae, charts, and data organisation. Advanced learners explore pivot tables, advanced functions, macros, and problem-solving applications for professional or academic use. I provide guided exercises, corrections, and explanations to ensure mastery at each stage. This approach helps learners gain practical skills and confidence for real-world tasks.
Excel lessons also strengthen problem-solving, logical thinking, and organisation skills. Students develop accuracy, efficiency, and independence in handling data. They gain confidence to complete projects, manage data, and apply Excel skills in academic or professional environments. My goal is to make Excel simple, practical, and empowering so learners can navigate complex tasks effectively and feel confident using data tools in their studies or career.
