About Tavian
My interest in Excel developed when I began studying how digital tools help people organize and interpret information more efficiently. I realized that spreadsheets provide a powerful way to analyze data and present results in a clear and organized format. This interest encouraged me to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems and later complete a Master’s in Data Management.
During the past 6 years, I have taught Excel to students and professionals who wanted to improve their ability to manage and analyze data. Through teaching experience, I noticed that many learners initially feel uncertain about formulas and spreadsheet functions. Because of this, I focus on guiding students through practical exercises that help them understand each feature clearly.
My teaching style emphasizes step-by-step learning and real-world application. I encourage students to explore different spreadsheet tools and understand how they can be used to simplify complex data tasks. Helping learners build confidence in using Excel and improve their data analysis skills is one of the most fulfilling parts of my teaching experience.

My Excel lessons focus on helping students learn how spreadsheets can be used to organize, analyze, and present information effectively. Excel is widely used in education, business, and research because it allows people to manage data in a structured and efficient way. In my lessons, I guide students through spreadsheet tools step by step so they can understand how each feature contributes to effective data management.
Lessons usually begin with the basic structure of Excel, including rows, columns, and cell organization. Students learn how to enter and format information properly so that data remains clear and easy to read. They also practice using simple formulas to perform calculations such as totals, averages, and percentages, which helps them understand how spreadsheets automate mathematical operations.
As students gain more confidence, lessons expand into topics such as data sorting, filtering, conditional formatting, and chart creation. Students learn how to summarize large sets of information and present results visually using graphs and tables. My goal is to help learners develop practical Excel skills that can support academic projects, research work, and professional responsibilities.
