About Aakanksha

My interest in spreadsheets and data organization began while studying at university, where I discovered how useful Excel could be for analyzing information and presenting results clearly. This interest encouraged me to complete a Master’s in Data Analysis, where I developed stronger skills in working with structured data. Over the past 9 years, I have taught students how to use Excel effectively for academic assignments, business tasks, and everyday data management.

I believe that learning Excel should feel practical and approachable rather than technical or confusing. Many students feel overwhelmed when they first see large spreadsheets and complex formulas. My teaching style focuses on breaking these ideas into smaller steps so learners can understand each concept clearly. By practicing regularly and applying functions in real examples, students begin to feel comfortable working with data and building their own spreadsheets.

Outside of teaching, I continue exploring different ways that data tools can help people organize and understand information. Learning about new spreadsheet techniques allows me to bring useful examples into my lessons. Helping students move from uncertainty to confidence with Excel is very rewarding for me. My goal is to support learners in developing skills that will remain useful throughout their academic and professional journeys.

About the lesson

Excel is a powerful tool that becomes much easier to understand when students learn the logic behind how spreadsheets work. My lessons focus on helping students feel confident using Excel for both academic tasks and real-world situations. We begin with the basics such as understanding cells, formatting data, and using simple formulas. Instead of memorizing steps, students learn how spreadsheets organize information and perform calculations. This helps them develop a deeper understanding of how Excel can be used to solve everyday problems.

During lessons, students practice working with common Excel functions such as SUM, AVERAGE, COUNT, and IF statements. I guide learners step by step so they understand how formulas operate and how they can be applied to different situations. We also explore sorting, filtering, charts, and basic data analysis. These skills help students manage information more efficiently and present data clearly. Exercises are designed to be practical so learners can see how Excel supports tasks in business, education, and personal organization.

As students improve their skills, they begin to work more independently with spreadsheets and develop confidence in handling larger sets of data. Excel becomes less intimidating and more like a helpful tool for solving problems and organizing information. My goal is to make each lesson structured, calm, and practical so that students can gradually build useful spreadsheet skills that will support their studies and future work.
