About Ava
Hello! My name is Kiara, and I am a compassionate, dependable academic tutor dedicated to helping students become confident and successful learners. I have experience working with children from Pre-K through 12th grade, including students with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, speech and language needs, and other learning differences.
I provide patient, professional, and encouraging instruction tailored to each student’s strengths, challenges, interests, and learning style. My background in behavioral support and mental health allows me to address the whole child by supporting academic growth, confidence, communication, focus, and emotional regulation. I strive to create a welcoming environment where students feel safe asking questions, making mistakes, and celebrating their progress.

My tutoring approach is patient, engaging, and personalized to each student’s learning style, academic level, interests, and goals. I use visual examples, guided practice, educational games, repetition, positive reinforcement, and real-world connections to make challenging concepts easier to understand.
A typical lesson begins with a brief check-in and review, followed by direct instruction, guided practice, independent work, and a confidence-building recap. I also teach focus, mindfulness, and problem-solving strategies that students can use when they feel overwhelmed.
What sets me apart is my experience supporting students with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, learning differences, speech and language needs, IEPs, and 504 Plans. My lessons are designed for Pre-K through eighth-grade students who need academic enrichment, skill-building, homework assistance, school readiness, or additional individualized support in reading, phonics, writing, spelling, English language arts, and math.
