About Helen

I am an experienced, friendly , qualified piano teacher with a love of playing the piano that i want to share with all! I am not a regular piano teacher! I try to adapt my methods to fit the individual and inspire the pupil! I teach a variety of styles, chords, improvisation, notation etc. Gradings are taught but are not compulsory for everyone. Adults are welcome and encouraged! Remember, it's never too late!

About the lesson

Since completing my training in Music at University (BA Hons) and training as a secondary music teacher (PGCE), I have worked in schools (both secondary and primary) as a classroom teacher and instrumental teacher for the last 20+ years. I have taken hundreds of pupils successfully through gradings over the years but also teach for fun as well; both adults and children alike. I have lots of experience teaching children with additional needs especially as a mother of an autistic child. I am friendly and professional and try to foster a love of playing piano front and foremost as a basis for lessons (alongside notation, theory etc). Lessons are available ages 6+.
