About Sasha

After ten years of trying to squeeze a style into my artwork, I woke up one day and decided to create art that I can look back on and feel proud of. I went from focusing on the outcome of a particular art piece to focusing more on the process. Once I found a process I enjoyed, I found myself painting more and then I realised that I would like to share this with everyone, which I did through online and in-person art workshops, selling my original artwork in and around London as well as exhibiting my artwork regularly. Art surprised me when I learnt to let go. My work now can be described as being inspired by warm analogous colours while I try to defy rigidity by painting based on immediate feelings rather than strict references. I have studied both in-person and online with Disney artists such as Sam Neilson, Glen Vilpuu, and many more.

About the lesson

I am warm and patient with all my students regardless of their art level. I try to remind them that everyone starts somewhere in their journey to becoming the artist they have envisioned in their minds. I like to remind my students to be gracious with themselves as their journey to become that artist takes time. In my classroom, mistakes and bad drawings are allowed as that's how we all learn. I love to see my students grow in their confidence as they develop their own artistic voice under my tutelage. Because improving in your artwork is more about learning to see, I like to sometimes simplify drawing or painting by teaching students how to break their reference images down into basic shapes, value families, or light and dark structures. I have a very step-by-step approach to teaching where I like to build on each concept in order to get my students to achieve what they are after. Lessons will be conducted over Zoom for its share screen functionality and its ability for me to set up a second screen so students can see what I am doing as we draw or paint along with each other. Lessons will normally be for an hour. I have been working as an artist for over 15 years and have taught a lot of in-person fundamental drawing workshops and abstract painting workshops to students of all ages, races, and backgrounds. I paint and draw predominantly portraits and tigers. My original work can be described as abstract expressionism where I combine realism with elements of abstract art. I am obsessed with using colours in my work in a dreamy yet ethereal way to convey mood to my audience.
