Bernardine has been my violin tutor for nearly a year and my skill and knowledge of music has improved drastically. She’s extremely kind (always greeted with a “how’s your week been?”) and challenges you to pursue your other interests that can end up being intertwined with the lessons, such as music from another genre she may not know, yet still helps me learn. My favourite part about being one of her students is that she urges you to practice outside of lessons, but understands that with learning an instrument it’s a constant up and down, in which she doesn’t add any unnecessary pressure. I would recommend Bernardine as I have never felt any hostility and am constantly gaining constructive criticism on what I should refine. Which is what has helped me improve over the months as her student.

I've had the extreme pleasure of experiencing singing lessons from Bernadine. We called them singing lessons but in reality what I got out of them was so much more - an understanding of how to not just hit a note (which isn't always easy for me) but how to use your voice to actually portray different emotions. The lessons also extended to song writing, how harmony works, chord replacement, vocal styles, and a whole lot more. All this while being the most fun I've ever had in a classroom Bernadine is a highly talented, technically proficient multi instrumentalist and singer - when combined with an ability to explain concepts and ideas in the simplest of ways, you end up with one of the best music learning experiences one can ask for.

Bernardine was my singing tutor for over 2 years. She is a really reliable tutor who was always willing to provide me with extra exercises and tips if I asked for them. When I started lessons with her I was lacking in confidence but she helped build that confidence for me to then take my abilities further. She is a very kind teacher that will give you praise when you need it; however, she is also able to push you when you know you want to try something, but maybe aren't too sure whether you should, she'll push you to just go for it! I would highly recommend her, as she is an organised and experience tutor with plenty of knowledge to share.
