About Poojaa

Hello! I’m Ar. Pooja Parmar, an Architect, Design Mentor and Academician with 11 years of experience in architectural education. My journey in both academics and professional architectural practice has given me a strong understanding of how students learn, develop design ideas and translate concepts into well-resolved architectural projects.

I am passionate about mentoring architecture students and helping them discover their creative potential, strengthen their design thinking and build confidence in presenting their ideas. My teaching approach combines academic understanding with practical, industry-oriented insights, enabling students to see the connection between what they learn in college and how architecture is applied in the real world.

Along with architectural design, I have a strong interest in Universal Design and accessibility in the built environment. I encourage students to consider building bylaws, planning requirements, accessibility principles and relevant compliance standards as an integral part of good architectural design.

My mentoring style is friendly, patient, interactive and personalized. Rather than imposing solutions, I encourage students to question, analyze and explore their own ideas while providing constructive guidance at every stage—from understanding the brief and developing concepts to planning, drawings, design refinement, presentations and jury preparation.

Whether you are struggling to begin a studio project, looking for a fresh perspective on an existing design, or simply want to become a more confident designer, I am here to guide you.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is based on mentoring rather than simply teaching. I believe every architecture student has a unique design thought process, and my role is to help you discover, develop and confidently express it.

Each class is personalized to your current studio project, academic requirements and level of understanding. We typically begin by understanding the design brief, site and user requirements, followed by concept development, space planning, design evolution, drawings and presentation. I encourage students to question, analyze and explore alternatives rather than simply providing ready-made solutions.

A special focus of my mentoring is helping students understand how creative design can be combined with practical architectural requirements, including relevant building bylaws, planning norms, accessibility principles and compliance standards for inclusive built environments.

My sessions are interactive and discussion-based, with constructive design critiques, practical examples and step-by-step guidance. I also help students prepare their drawings, presentations and design rationale for studio reviews and juries.

These classes are primarily intended for architecture college students at undergraduate level who need guidance with design studios, academic projects, concept development, architectural planning, presentations or jury preparation. Whether you are struggling to start a project, need help taking an existing idea forward, or want to strengthen your design approach, my aim is to help you become a more confident, independent and thoughtful designer.
