About Hailey

I was born and raised in the Lower East Side, and grew up in Puerto Rico for my adolescent years. I am dedicated, reliable, and service-oriented. I have been teaching for over 5 years now.

I began teaching English as Second Language in Puerto Rico when I was a teenager, in an effort to serve the families from my parish. It was through this initial experience that I discovered a deep passion for language and teaching.

Now, I have an extensive resume of jobs in education at organizations like the DOE, the Met, El Museo del Barrio, Brooklyn Museum and The People's Forum. Currently, I teach ESL at a migrant shelter and Spanish for my community organization.

About the lesson

My goal is leave you in a better place linguistically (and maybe even culturally, who knows?) then how I found you, because my approach is holistic and integrated. Depending on what your strengths and preferences are, we will assess what the best action plan for you is.

Do you want to jump right into conversation practice? Should we go over the phonetics of the Spanish language? Should we start with verb conjugation? I will only know more in order to answer these questions once I get to know you.
