My approach to teaching is centered around connecting theoretical knowledge to real-world applications. I leverage visual aids, employ mind maps to enhance retention, break down complex topics into more manageable components, conduct regular assessments to identify areas for improvement, and provide personalized support tailored to individual learning needs while actively seeking feedback.
My standard lesson plan would have the following elements: introduction and objectives, materials and resources, an engaging introduction with a link to prior knowledge if possible, direct Instruction involving the breakdown of content and practical applications, discussion/addressing doubts related to the taught content, guided practice for the application of new skills, independent practice through assigned homework, and assessment to pinpoint areas for further improvement.
What distinguishes me as a biology tutor is my extensive research background, enabling me to assist students in grasping the practical implications of theoretical knowledge, thereby piquing their interest in the field.
My lessons would be typically geared towards university-level life sciences courses (Bachelor's and Master's).
