About Alys
I have been teaching for over 10 years now, delivering lessons to over 350 students at every level - from KS1, KS2 and ESL, through to GCSE, A-level, and university mentoring to both undergraduates and postgraduates writing their theses. I am also an experienced and sought-after creative writing specialist, aiding students of all ages elevate their creative writing, from short stories, to novels!
I have helped many university applicants to write their personal statements for UK-based universities, and I also have extensive experience aiding those wishing to apply to US universities with their personal essays for their application. I love interacting with students in a way that feels personal - I like to make my students feel heard and comfortable, as I believe this brings out the best in them.
As a Durham English graduate, and Cambridge University postgraduate, I love to learn. I relish in helping others to learn, but highly appreciate what I learn from my students too. Sessions are tailored to individual goals, and will seek to bring out your own narrative in a way that will be both unique and impressive for your university application.
