About Bill
I am originally from Manchester, England. My passions are Chemistry, travel, music and photography. I've been blessed in being able to combine these whilst teaching in 11 different countries over the years. I've taught chemistry in Malaysia, Syria, Dubai, Cambodia, Angola, Togo, Oman, Poland and China
In working with students with so many backgrounds and from so many cultures over the years I have learned that each student has particular talents and individual needs in order to do the very best they can. I truly believe that all students can see, appreciate and understand the chemistry and science in the world around them. Not only that but also communicate their knowledge to others.
We all have individual specialities and my job as a tutor is to ensure a student shows the very best of what they are capable in chemistry or science.

I am a UK qualified chemistry teacher (Cambridge university PGCE 1991) with a background in Pharmacology (Kings College, London University 2:2 Hons 1998) who has been teaching IB higher level chemistry and general science in leading international schools since 1993. These are equivalent to NCEA Level 3 Chemistry and High School Science.
I have a large range of resources for teaching and learning which I have created over the years. Whilst I feel I am able to thoroughly prepare students for examinations, teaching exam technique and skills in communicating knowledge, I also feel that my methodology of referring to chemistry and science we see in our everyday lives helps students to think about, solidify and internalise knowledge and especially understanding.
Over the years I have done a great deal of tutoring on top of my regular teaching. I am recently arrived in New Zealand and am waiting for my New Zealand teacher registration to come through. Lessons would be for around an hour and can be done by arranged visit to your home or via zoom.
