About Kate
I am an experienced teacher with a strong background in education. Before coming to Canada, I worked as a high school teacher in China, where I developed solid classroom teaching skills and learned how to explain concepts clearly and patiently.
After moving to Canada, I also taught Chinese at a Confucius Institute, which gave me valuable experience teaching Mandarin in a multicultural environment.
I hold a Level 2-A certificate in the Putonghua Proficiency Test, which reflects a high standard of Mandarin pronunciation.
I am patient, responsible, and supportive. I understand that every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to each student's age, level, and goals. I especially enjoy helping children and teenagers build confidence in speaking, reading, and using Chinese naturally.

My lessons are designed for children, teenagers, and adults who want to improve their Mandarin in a practical and enjoyable way. I teach pronunciation, Pinyin, speaking, reading, writing, and Chinese culture according to each student's level and goals.
With many years of teaching experience in China and Canada, I focus on clear explanations, patient guidance, and step-by-step progress. I especially enjoy helping children and teenagers build a strong foundation in Chinese and become more confident in speaking and reading.
Lessons can be adapted for beginners, heritage Chinese learners, or students who want extra support with school Chinese. I also use conversation, stories, reading materials, and real-life topics to make learning more interesting and effective.
