About Camillus

I love teaching Chinese language and culture. After finish my master degree in Paris, I create an individual entreprise to give Chinese classes in France. Since the end of 2018, I am always the TOP 1 Chinese teacher on French SUPERPROF platform, and now I would like to expand my activity and offer my class in other European countries.

I have 6 years' teaching experience in France (Paris and Gretz-Armainvilliers), Slovakia (Prešov), and China (Chengdu, Suzhou, Shanghai)

Hello,

My name is Camillus BAI, I was born in China. Since September 2016, I live in Paris. I finish my Master degree in France and create my entreprise in 2019.

I have 6 years teaching experience, in addition, I've organised Chinese culture conference in universities.

I can teach in English, and French, I also speak a little Slovak, Arabic and Sanskrit, but unfortunately I cannot speak German.

I've got my Chinese teacher certificate in 2014 in Chengdu, China

I offer all level of Chinese language class to adult and child (at least 8 years old), I also offer HSK exam preparation class.

I'm currently living in Paris, so I offer only online class to German students.

Besides the Chinese language, if you want to learn some Chinese culture in the same time, I can also teach you the Chinese calligraphy, Chinese history, mythology, Buddhism, Taoism etc. I've built Chinese culture classes since 4 years and made Chinese culture presentations in a French business school (SKEMA) during one year.

Since 2020, I've created my own YouTube Channel to explain Chinese culture and Chinese language:

I. REGULATION


I – 1. GENERAL CONDITION

I – 1.1. These conditions only apply to UK

I – 1.2. The class is designed both for adult and child (at least 8 years old)

I – 1.3. When the class is finished, if the student still have questions, the class can be extended 5min more

I – 1.4. In the period of one month, if the class is cancelled 2 times or more, the professor saves the right to stop giving classes

I – 1.5. If the student refuse to pay the class, or any penalty relevant to document “III-1” (CANCELATION OF CLASS), “III-2” (CHANGE OF CLASS) or “III-3” (BEEN LATE), or any serious situation, le professor saves the right to stop giving classes definitively

I – 1.6. During the class, if the student is trying to seduce the professor or commit any sexual harassment, the professor will stop the class immediately

 
I – 2. REGULATION AND PENALTY

I – 2.1. CANCELLATION OF CLASS

I – 2.1.1. Student can cancel or shorten the class 24h before the start, on additional fee will be charged

I – 2.1.2. If the student cancel a class within 24h of the start, he should pay the totality of the class to compensate the loss of availability of the professor, and his time spent for preparing the class

I – 2.1.3. If the student shorten the class within 24h, he still need to pay the totality as scheduled

I – 2.1.4. If the professor cancel a class, the same conditions will be applied. And in case if the professor cancel a class within 24h, he should refund the student and pay one hour’s fee to the student as a penalty


I – 2.2. CHANGE OF CLASS

I – 2.2.1. The student can change a class 24h before the start, no additional fee will be charged

I – 2.2.2. Within 24h, the student can only modify the class to later or earlier time in the same day

I – 2.2.3. 60 min before the start of the class, the student cannot modify the class any more. This situation will be treated as a “been late”

I – 2.2.4. Within 24h, if the student wants to move his class to another day, it will be treated as a cancellation according to the condition “III-I-2”, and he should pay the totality of the class to compensate the loss of availability of the professor, and his time spent for preparing the class

I – 2.2.5. If the professor wants to change a class, the same condition will be applied
 
I – 2.3. BEEN LATE

I – 2.3.1. Been Late of the Student

I – 2.3.1.1. Been late for 0 – 10 min: The professor need to wait for the student, and give the class as long as scheduled. The tariff is calculated at the moment student arrives
(Ex. The class is scheduled from 10 :00 to 11 :00. If the student arrives at 10 :09, the professor need to give a class from 10 :09 to 11 :09, and not from 10 :09 to 11 :00)

I – 2.3.1.2. Been late for 10 min – 30 min: The tariff is calculated as the scheduled time
(Ex. The class is scheduled from 10 :00 to 11 :00 but the student arrives at 10:25. The professor gives the class from 10 :25 to 11 :00 and the student pays one hour’s fee as a class from 10:00 to 11:00

I – 2.3.1.3. Been late for more than 30 min: The professor have the right to leave. The student have to pay the totality of the class to compensate the loss of availability of the professor, and his time spent for preparing the class

I – 2.3.1.4. When the professor and student both arrive, if the student have an obstacle and cannot start the class on time, this situation will be treated according to the condition « I – 2.3.1.1.», « I – 2.3.1.2.» and « I – 2.3.1.3.»

I – 2.3.1.5. In the period of one month, if the student has been late for more than 120 min in total, or been late for 30 min – 60 min two times or more, the professor saves the right to refuse this student

I – 2.3.2. Been Late of the Professor

I – 2.3.2.1. Been late for 0 – 10 min: The student should wait, and the professor have to give a class as long as scheduled. The tariff is calculated at the moment professor arrives
(Ex. The class is scheduled from 10 :00 to 11 :00, the professor arrive at 10 :09, so he have to give a class from 10 :09 to 11 :09, and not from 10 :09 to 11 :00)

I – 2.3.2.2. Been late for 10 min – 30 min: The professor need to ask the student if he is agree to delay the class, and have to give the class as long as scheduled. In this situation, the student has the right to cancel the class without paying

I – 2.3.2.3. Been late for 30 min or more: The professor need to pay 1h penalty to his student. In the same time, the student has the right to cancel the class without paying

I – 2.3.2.4. When the class is started, if the professor has any technical/physical problems which lead to a suspension during the class, this situation will be treated according to « I – 2.3.2.1.», « I – 2.3.2.2.» and « I – 2.3.2.3.»

I – 2.3.3. Professor and Student are both late

The start of the class is calculated by the first person arrived, and the above conditions will be applied to both of them
 



II. TARIFF


II – 1. GENERAL CONDITION

II – 1.1. All the class is organized online for one or several students

II – 1.2. The class must be paid 24h in advance, no student will be accepted without payment

II – 1.3. The payment is available by bank card, SUPERPROF and bank transfer. The invoice will be sent in the end of each month. (In case if the student needs it immediately, the professor can send the invoice immediately)

II – 1.4. The student can only cancel/change a class 24h before the start. All class cancelled within 24h is due the totality

II – 1.5. The student have the right to leave the class before the end, yet the totality of the class is due
 


II – 2. PRECISION OF TARIFF

II – 2.1. GUARANTEE DEPOSIT

For the new students, a guarantee deposit of 2h is required, in case if the student doesn’t pay in advance, the guarantee deposit will compensate the class. The professor gives the guarantee deposit to student after 6 months

II – 2.2. DURATION OF CLASS

• Adult : 1 h minimum
• Child : 45 min-60 min

- The minimum unit of payment id 30 min. If the student asks a duration less than 30 min, the class should be paid as 30 min. (Ex. A class of 45 min will be charged as 1 h, a class of 1 h 20 min will be charged as 1 h 30 min)

II – 2.3. DISCOUNT

II – 2.3.1. GENERAL DISCOUNT: The student will have a discount if he pays a pack of hours. This discount is applied to all classes:

• 5 - 9 h : 2% discount
• 10-14 h : 3% discount
• 15-19 h : 4% discount
• 20 h+ : 5% discount

- If the student cannot continue the class any more, he can have the refund of the rest of classes, but he cannot benefit the discount of the class already passed

II – 2.4. PROGRAM OF ADULT:

• II – 2.4.1.1. Level 1 = 40€/h (0-800 vocabulary)

• II – 2.4.1.2. Level 2 = 40€/h (800-1500 vocabulary)

• II – 2.4.1.3. Level 3 = 40€/h (1500-2500 vocabulary)

• II – 2.4.1.4. Level 4 = 40€/h (2500-4000 vocabulary)

II – 2.4.2. BUSINESS CHINESE

• II – 2.4.2.1. Level 1 = 40€/h (1500-2500 vocabulary)

• II – 2.4.2.2. Level 2 = 40€/h (2500-5000 vocabulary)

II – 2.4.3. EXAM PREPARATION OF《HSK》

• II – 2.4.3.1. 《HSK》 Level 1-4 = 40€/h

• II – 2.4.3.2. 《HSK》 Level 5-6 = 40€/h

II – 2.5. PROGRAM OF CHILD

- Because of the difficulty of this program, the child less than 8 years will not be accepted

• II – 2.5.1. Level 1 = 40€/h (0-200 vocabulary)

• II – 2.5.2. Level 2 = 40€/h (200-400 vocabulary)

• II – 2.5.3. Level 3 = 40€/h (400-700 vocabulary)

• II – 2.5.4. Level 4 = 40€/h (700-1000 vocabulary)

  • Parlez-vous couramment cette langue en raison de vos origines ou parce qu'un professeur vous a donné envie de l'apprendre ?

    Je parle chinois couramment comme la langue maternelle, je suis né en Chine et j'ai grandi là-bas jusqu'à 26 ans.

  • Citez le personnage vivant, historique ou fictif qui est, selon vous, le représentant emblématique de la culture en question !

    J'aime un héro dans la mythologie chinoise, il s'appelle 盘古(Pangu), il a décidé de créer notre monde, en suite prendre la responsabilité de construire le monde jusqu'à la mort. Son histoire bien explique la sagesse et la responsabilité dans la culture chinoise.

  • Y-a-t-il, dans celle-ci, un mot, une expression, une tradition ou un comportement typique qui vous amuse particulièrement ?

    J'admirer le grand maître LAO TSEU, j'ai appris plein de chose à ses côtés. Par exemple, l'amour et responsabilité, il a dit "故贵以身为天下，若可寄天下；爱以身为天下，若可托天下。" (13ème chapitre, 《TAO TE KING》), qui désigne qu'à celui qui estime le monde au prix de sa personne, on peut remettre le monde; à celui qui gouverne le monde comme sa personne, on peut confier le monde.

  • En quoi savoir parler cette langue est important, que ce soit scolairement, professionnellement ou d'un point de vue plus personnel ?

    Aujourd'hui la Chine est une grande partie de l'économie mondialement, parler bien le chinois, vous pouvez trouver un travail facilement. Le chinois est de plus en plus important pour les manager supérieur qui travaillent dans un environnement international. En suite, à mon avis, apprendre le chinois vous donnera une nouvelle façon de penser et de connaître le monde, ce qui est le plus précieux pour la vie personnelle.

  • Quelle est la difficulté principale de cette langue et ce qui peut favoriser son apprentissage ?

    Le chinois vient de la famille de langue "Sino-Tibetan", ce qui est totalement différent avec les langues européennes, qui sont dans la famille de langue "Hindu-European". Il y a beaucoup de difficultés pour apprendre le chinois, quelques prononciations ne existent pas dans les autres langues, donc c'est difficile de prononcer les syllabes chinoises correctement. Le chinois est la seule langue d'écriture symbolique, et l'écriture de caractère chinois est dur pour tous les élèves.

    Pour favoriser son apprentissage, l'élève doit bien s'entraîner la production orale, parle souvent avec son professeur et corrige la prononciation sous une propre instruction. Et aussi, il faut écrire le caractère régulièrement, ne pas essayer d'apprendre beaucoup de caractère en un seul jours, mais 2-3 par jour, continuellement.

  • Une anecdote en rapport avec votre métier ou votre scolarité à nous raconter ?

    Quand j'étais encore un étudiant de SKEMA Business School, j'ai fait souvent des conférences de culture chinoise dans mon campus. Une fois, je parlais le sujet "histoire chinoise", j'ai discuté les différences entre la Chine et l'Europe avec mes camarades est mes professeur (les professeur de SKEMA participe mes conférences aussi). On a trouvé beaucoup de choses intéressants, ces expériences m'encouragent souvent d'avancer dans ce chemin.

  • Aidez-nous à vous connaître un peu mieux en évoquant vos différents voyages.

    J'ai voyagé en Thaïlande pour 10 jours, en Viêt-Nam pour 2 semaines, en Australie pour 1 mois et demie, en Slovaquie pour 1 mois, et j'habite en France depuis 2 ans.

  • Qu'est-ce qui fait de vous un Superprof, en + de cette capacité à s'exprimer en plusieurs langues ?

    La patience et la persévérance sont les clés de devenir un bon professeur, mais l'amour est le plus important. J'aime enseigner la langue et j'ai beaucoup de passion de partager mes cultures.

    J'ai une richesse de savoir de la culture chinoise. J'apprends le Bouddhïsme depuis 14 ans, Taoïsme depuis 5 ans et Hinduïsme depuis 11 ans, ils me donnent une grande connaissance. Je maîtrise 2 instruments chinois, Bamboo flûte (笛子), Guqin (古琴), et je fais arts martiaux (截拳道). Tous ces savoir me offrent un profil culturellement riche.

    5 ans d'expérience d'enseignement en 3 pays (Chine, France, Slovaquie) me donne une grande capacité. Je suis capable d'expliquer la langue chinoise et la culture chinoise en beaucoup de manière.
