About Alice
I began teaching in an inner city school in Washington, DC. From there I taught English at both the community college and university levels. I have M.A. in English from Georgetown University and completed coursework for a PhD at the University of Colorado in Boulder. I have taken many online courses in literature, such as Science Fiction from University of Michigan.
I attended an Asian Studies Institute at the University of Hawaii.
I also taught Women Writers and Nature Writing at the USDA in DC.

I have a wide knowledge of contemporary topics including environmental literature, climate change fiction, children's literature, and film studies. I encourage students to use their imagination and curiosity to expand their worldviews. I use technology where appropriate, that is to illustrate concepts or provide further information on scientific topics, etc.
