About Tarran

With a double major in Bible and Culture from Grace College, my academic foundation is deeply rooted in preparation for missionary work. However, my journey extends far beyond the classroom. For over 14 years, I've dedicated myself to guiding teens and their families through some of life's toughest challenges—abuse, suicide attempts, and the grief of losing loved ones. Throughout it all, my focus has remained steadfast: supporting young men who feel judged and condemned, offering them solace, support, and strength.

My commitment to understanding the complexities of human struggles led me to pursue some studies in psychology, enriching my ability to empathize and provide effective support. But my expertise doesn't stop there. I'm continuously learning and seeking guidance from individuals with far greater experience and knowledge than myself.

As your tutor, my goal isn't just to impart knowledge but to embark on a journey of discovery alongside you. The Bible, in its dynamic and transformative nature, continues to shape hearts and lives. Together, let's delve into its depths, learning and growing as we navigate its timeless truths.

About the lesson

In my role, I transcend the traditional notion of mere lessons. Instead, I cultivate an environment where individuals can freely voice their questions and confront the struggles they may not feel comfortable sharing elsewhere, all within the enriching framework of Scripture. It's not about lectures; it's about fostering genuine dialogue and ongoing encouragement, both within and beyond our Bible study sessions.

To me, this is not just another "class." It's a calling—an opportunity to fulfill the commandment to make disciples and nurture personal growth. While my academic journey may have led me to obtain a degree in Bible and Culture, I've come to understand that God's calling for me is right here, right now, among young men who may face judgment from others. I have been building into teens (mainly 9th-12th grade and on) for over 14 years.

I walk alongside individuals grappling with profound challenges—suicidal ideation, depression, and the scars of abuse. Through it all, I've witnessed transformation, offering unwavering encouragement and support. My commitment is steadfast: to provide a safe space devoid of judgment, where every voice is heard and every struggle is met with compassion.

For me, it's about more than just tutoring; it's about building communities of support for young men. My goal is clear—to create a haven where individuals can thrive, grow, and find solace in their journey towards becoming their best selves.

My goal is to even get to the point of having groups so the guys can support one another; for they need young men to come alongside them who understand etc. This is my goal.

Please reach out to just talk! See if we get along. For it is important to have a relationship and trust for the studies as we will, at least it is my goal, to get into personal things. But I specify, that I also wish to have a discussion with any parents during that hour so they can ask questions and things can be discussed as keeping them in the loop is a priority. Now, for teens, this does NOT mean I am telling them everything that is being talked about when topics are discussed. This is the balance that needs to be had and all parties need to keep in mind.
