About Hesterly
I hold a master’s degree in English from the University of Vermont and a master of fine arts in writing from the Vermont College of Fine Arts. I have taught American literature and writing (creative and nonfiction) as a senior lecturer at the University of Vermont for 20+ years, and I have had multiple nonfiction essays published nationally.

Writing well is a process. As an experienced teacher of college-level writing and American literature, I can offer guided and constructive feedback on any stage of your assignments, from generating ideas to helping you polish your final drafts. Real learning happens when students can apply the material to their lives in a meaningful way. I will work remotely with you, exchanging work via email. My tutoring would be most appropriate for high school or college-age students in the U.S.
