About LEI
My name is Lei Lei, I am from Beijing, China, this is my 7th year living at the States. I currently have two master’s degrees from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music: Master of Music in Jazz Studies (Jazz Piano) class 2016 and Master of Science in Music education (Band and Instrumental Music Teaching) class 2019, along with valid Indiana Teacher Certificate.
I speak Mandarin and English fluently.
I have over 10-year long experience on teaching music including jazz and classical piano performance, music theory, jazz theory, ear training, and k-12 level bands directing and conducting.

I teach students with different ages, different levels and different music and cultural background and I try my best to teach music with cultural respect and understanding. I use different kinds of assessments to evaluate students during the lessons which helps me to change the teaching methods over classes in order to help students to have better learning experience. My jazz piano professor used to tell me that by teaching music, we help students to learn, to think, to self-regulate, to apply, to live, to love and to be a better person, and that's what I aim for as a music educator.
