About David

I’m a professional pianist and piano teacher with more than 10 years of teaching experience, and I truly enjoy helping students discover how rewarding learning the piano can be.

My musical journey started when I was six years old and eventually led me to study Piano Performance at the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory. As a pianist, I have performed internationally, including appearances at Jordan Hall in Boston, and have participated in numerous international piano competitions. Some of my achievements include First Prize at the Scriabin International Piano Competition in Paris, First Prize at The Muse International Competition in Santorini, and the Grand Prize at the Renaissance International Competition.

Teaching, however, has become one of the most important parts of my professional life. Over the years, I have worked with students of many different ages and levels and also co-founded and directed a music academy serving more than 150 students and a team of professional music teachers.

My students have successfully participated in RCM examinations, recitals, auditions, and international piano competitions, with prize-winning students receiving opportunities to perform at Carnegie Hall.

Despite my classical background, my lessons are not overly formal. I’m friendly, patient, and easygoing, and I adapt my teaching to each student’s personality and goals. Whether you want to study piano seriously, prepare for a competition, or simply learn to play music you love, I’ll be happy to help you along the way!

About the lesson

My piano lessons combine a structured approach with personalized instruction, helping each student develop strong technique, musical understanding, confidence, and a genuine enjoyment of playing.

Lessons are tailored to each student’s age, level, learning style, and individual goals. My teaching covers piano technique, sight-reading, music theory, ear training, interpretation, and performance skills, creating a well-rounded musical education rather than simply learning one piece after another.

For younger beginners, I make lessons engaging and interactive while building strong fundamentals from the very beginning. Intermediate and advanced students receive more intensive training in technique, repertoire, musical interpretation, and performance preparation.

I also work with motivated students preparing for RCM examinations, recitals, auditions, and piano competitions, including advanced-level repertoire and long-term performance goals.

Whether your goal is to learn piano for enjoyment or pursue serious musical achievement, I will create a clear and individualized learning path to help you progress.
