About Evelyn
My name is Evelyn and I am currently studying towards a PhD in Classics and Archaeology. I also have a BA and MA in Classics/Ancient History. I have published various chapters and journals about the Classics, and in the English Literature discipline. I am exceptionally learned regarding Shakespeare, and his Classical influences. I`m passionate about teaching, and love meeting new students and helping them re-discover their love for education.
My approach is gentle and patient. I believe in working with children and young adults to help them enjoy their subjects, and discover new approaches. I have experience working in a university and private school environment, and with a range of educational needs - including mental health, dyslexia, and autism. I am extremely patient, and believe in constant reassurance whilst also helping students understand things that may not be understood immediately.
My lessons are structured and I encourage my pupils to seek out knowledge themselves by performing homework assignments. Our first lesson together will be spent establishing strengths and weaknesses, and discussing curriculum, before getting our teeth into the work itself.

Evie created a very accessible study plan for my son to help him get to grips with the curriculum after falling behind. I was reluctant to engage a tutor in the beginning but Evie’s manner and her obvious experience in tutoring put all my fears to rest immediately. My son has caught up and is now excelling in history thanks to Evie’s tutelage.
