About Joy
I am an experienced educator, instructional coach, and education consultant with 25 years of experience supporting learners across the United States, the United Kingdom, the UAE, and international school communities. I specialize in literacy, phonics, reading intervention, public speaking, and confidence-building communication.
I have worked with children, teens, adults, teachers, and school leaders, and I am especially passionate about supporting neurodivergent learners. As someone with lived experience of dyslexia, I understand how important it is for learners to feel seen, encouraged, and taught in ways that make sense to them.
My teaching style is warm, structured, practical, and fun. I use multisensory and interactive strategies to help learners build strong foundations, improve clarity, and grow in confidence. Whether I am supporting a child with phonics or helping a teen or adult speak English more confidently, my goal is always to help learners feel capable, understood, and successful.

My lessons are warm, practical, interactive, and confidence-building. I specialize in supporting neurodivergent learners and create lessons that are structured, encouraging, and responsive to each learner’s needs.
For children, I focus on phonics, decoding, reading fluency, comprehension, and strong literacy foundations. I use a multisensory, interactive approach to phonics so learners can see, hear, say, move, and practice sounds and words in meaningful ways.
I also support teens and adults who are new to speaking English or who want to feel more confident communicating in English. Lessons can focus on pronunciation, articulation, listening confidence, everyday vocabulary, fluency, conversation practice, and speaking with greater clarity.
My approach is supportive but focused. I meet learners where they are, give clear feedback, and provide practical strategies they can use right away. My goal is for each learner to feel encouraged, capable, and able to make steady progress.
