About Clara
I am a qualified English teacher with over 20 years' experience working in education. Throughout my career, I have supported young people of all abilities to develop their confidence, achieve their goals and reach their full potential.
Alongside my teaching experience, I am currently completing postgraduate studies in Guidance and Counseling in Education. This has further strengthened my understanding of student well-being, motivation, study skills and the challenges many young people face both inside and outside the classroom.
I believe that successful learning is about much more than grades. Confidence, organization, resilience and effective study habits all play a vital role in helping students succeed. My aim is to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, developing new skills and building confidence in their abilities.
I have extensive experience supporting students at Junior Cycle, Leaving Certificate and Leaving Certificate Applied levels, as well as helping students make a successful transition from primary to secondary school.
Whether you are looking to improve your English, prepare for exams, strengthen your study skills or build academic confidence, I will work with you to develop a personalized approach that meets your individual needs.

My approach is student-centred, supportive and practical. I believe that every learner can succeed when they are given the right strategies, encouragement and confidence to reach their potential.
With over 20 years' experience in education and current postgraduate studies in Guidance and Counselling, I work with students to identify their strengths, build confidence and develop effective learning habits. Lessons are tailored to each student's individual needs, goals and learning style.
For English students, I focus on improving reading comprehension, essay writing, exam technique, critical thinking and communication skills. I also offer support in study skills, organisation, time management and academic confidence, helping students develop skills that benefit them across all subjects.
My teaching style is encouraging, structured and interactive. I aim to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing their understanding at their own pace.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes in length, although longer sessions can be arranged where appropriate.
I work with:
• Upper primary students preparing for secondary school
• Junior Cycle students
• Leaving Certificate students
• Leaving Certificate Applied (LCA) students
• Students seeking support with study skills and organisation
• Parents seeking guidance on supporting their teenager's learning and motivation
