About Emily
Hi, I’m Emily! I’m an English and Humanities teacher with over seven years of teaching experience in the classroom. One of my in person students has gone from 50%s in ATAR to now achieving 70%.
My teaching experience has included working with students from a wide range of backgrounds, abilities and learning needs. I understand that English can feel challenging, especially when you have ideas but aren’t sure how to put them into words.

My English lessons are personalised to your goals, interests and learning needs. Whether you want to strengthen your writing, understand a challenging text or prepare for an assessment, I offer patient, practical support to help you feel more confident.
With over seven years of teaching experience, I break complex skills into manageable steps, using clear explanations, worked examples and constructive feedback. My lessons provide a welcoming space where you can ask questions, make mistakes and build your skills at your own pace.
We can focus on:
- academic writing
- Reading comprehension and text analysis
- Creative, persuasive and analytical writing
- Grammar, punctuation and vocabulary
- General and ATAR English assessment preparation
- Study strategies and exam techniques
Bring along your schoolwork or a particular skill you would like to develop, and we will work from there. My goal is to help you become a capable, independent learner who understands both what to do and how to do it.

Emily has such a wealth of knowledge, and she shares it in the most considerate and kind way. I've known her for more than 10 years now, since we worked together, and she's helped me through my studies and so much since then. Her background in law and HASS means she brings real depth to her teaching, not just surface-level stuff. She has a real gift for explaining things clearly, and she never makes you feel rushed or silly for not getting something straight away. Her patience and genuine care really come through, and I honestly can't recommend her enough.
Emily is knowledgeable, patient and kind. She can explain even the most complex topics with simplicity and ease!!
