About Virginia
My philosophy is that “students may not remember all that you taught them (although I hope they will), but they will always remember how you treated them.” When I was a classroom teacher there were always two or three students waiting at my door for me in the morning before school started. They wanted help with assignments but also wanted to share what was happening in their lives. The same thing happened at lunch and after school. I remember once at the end of the school year finding a little note stuck between the pages of a returned textbook. It was from a girl who slept through my class frequently because her home life was so chaotic at night. The note read: “You are my favorite teacher even though I failed every semester.” Many of those students who came to my classroom early and after school are scattered around the world, many of them outstanding in their chosen fields. They contact me frequently on Facebook. I have always loved my students and am passionate about teaching and always honoring my students’ needs and abilities.
