About Jo
My background is in Executive Leadership and Coaching. I began tutoring around fifteen years ago focusing on SATs, GCSEs and A' levels for a small number of students already known to me. Seven years ago I began working with Cambridge University's Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) as a tutor and assessor. Although I have a degree in mathematics from London University, I am passionate about English and am an avid reader and a stickler for grammar. I enjoy the learning journey and watching students of all ages succeed. I have two grown up daughters and I enjoy running and exercise generally.

My objective for every student is that they achieve their full potential with self-confidence and enjoyment. I am a firm believer that learning should be both engaging and enabling and my lessons reflect this, with content/concepts, activities and discussion. When starting on the learning journey with a student, I take the time to understand what it is that they want to achieve. For younger children this may involve working with parents and carers, so that there is a clear goal and steps to achieve that goal.
