About Leslie

Hello!
My name is Leslie and I am an experienced English and writing tutor. I hold an honors BA in history with a minor in English, and I am completing graduate studies in history at the moment.
I have experience working with students with dyslexia using an Orton-Gillingham program. I also have experience working with young adults in history, essay writing, test taking, and reading complicated texts. I have worked as a teaching assistant and facilitator for university level humanities courses, so I am confident I can help you reach your academic writing goals.
Finally, I have also worked with ESL students and am comfortable tutoring students who do not speak English as a first language and who are beginners. I speak French and understand Spanish.
I am friendly, adaptable, and professional. I also try to get to know my students, so we can work together as a team

About the lesson

My lessons are entirely adapted to the needs of my students at any given time.
For students who are struggling readers or who are English learners: I will adapt my lessons to your level and goals, and we can work together to improve your skills in reading, writing, and speaking. We will play games, read interesting stories. I will always ensure you have a safe learning environment to grow!
For older students, we can work on essay writing, creative writing, English conversation, and/or literary analysis. Lessons are tailored to what you are working on in your courses, and your interests. While I cannot write for you, I can help you learn the skills you need to succeed and thrive, including thesis writing, grammar, and proper citation.
