About Evelyn

I have been teaching Maths since 2002 in outstanding state, private, and international schools, helping students of all abilities achieve excellent results. With over 20 years of experience teaching at both Primary and Secondary levels, I have prepared countless students for Independent School entrance exams, GCSE, International GCSE, and iGCSE.

As a former Head of Maths and an examiner for Maths entry exams, I have a deep understanding of what it takes to succeed. I specialise in identifying and closing learning gaps, helping students build confidence, accelerate their progress, and reach their full potential. There is nothing more rewarding to me than seeing a student grow in both ability and self-belief.

Now a full-time Maths tutor, I offer personalised support for students from Key Stage 1-3 up to GCSE level, with a focus on exam preparation for 7+, 8+, 10+, 11+, and GCSE exams. I also create tailored learning programmes for home-educated students, ensuring they receive structured yet engaging Maths education.

My teaching style is warm, patient, and encouraging. I believe that confidence is key to success, and I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel safe to learn, make mistakes, and truly engage with Maths. I absolutely love working one-on-one with students, nurturing their curiosity and helping them discover their own strengths.

Teaching is more than just a job for me—it’s my passion. I am deeply invested in my students' education, confidence, and overall well-being. Seeing their progress, both academically and personally, is what drives me every day.

If you’d like to learn more about how I can support your child’s Maths journey, please feel free to get in touch.

I've witnessed Evelyn working with classrooms of children at an inner London primary school for eight years as well as tutoring children in her own home in Maths and common entrance exams and I am confident that she is deeply loved and respected by her children and their parents. She has a warm, compassionate way with children being totally dedicated to their success and sense of wellbeing. I notice that when children are confident and comfortable learning they begin to do well and they are able to successfully pass exams.

I have known Evelyn for 10 years and in my view she is one of the most gifted teachers you will ever come across. She has over 16 years’ experience teaching and a beautifully brought up intelligent well-behaved child of her own which is the perfect proof of her innate love and respect for children. She mixes endless patience, great empathy and compassion with a firm and loving hand and it is easy to see her gift quickly because children of all ages and temperaments love her and respond well to her. Most importantly, children are her top priority – she will bring the best out in any child with love and gentleness. Highly recommended.
