About Devin
My name is Devin. I'm a 25-year-old music student who has been playing guitar for the past 12 years.
I started out teaching some music courses in public school while teaching ESL in Thailand and I fell in love with it.
Since then I've been teaching private lessons to all ages, but I especially enjoy working with children because I've seen firsthand how impactful it can be in their life.
I enjoy many genres such as blues, folk, jazz, country, and rock, but I especially enjoy playing improvisational "jam band" music such as the Grateful Dead.

Learning to play an instrument is one of the most rewarding things a person can do in their lifetime.
Being able to express yourself with your own unique musical voice is a joy that many people go their entire life without - and they don't even know what they're missing.
Becoming fluent in an instrument is not only fun for teens and adults, but is incredibly beneficial for building confidence in children.
The issue with most guitar courses is that they take a "traditional" approach and put far too much emphasis on theory far too quickly.
This leaves you thinking that the "fun" part of playing guitar must come after months - maybe even years! - of grueling practice.
Luckily, this doesn't need to be the case.
In my "Guitar Fundamentals for Beginners" course, we'll take a modern approach to learning the guitar. In other words, we'll actually have fun!
My name is Devin. I've been playing the guitar for 12 years and have taught privately and in public classes for the past three. I've worked mostly with children, but really enjoy teaching privately to adults as well.
If you'd like to start your guitar journey by actually playing, you've come to the right place. I won't ask you to spend hours memorizing scales or learning every variation of a chord. These things may be important for you at a certain point, but they'll come with time. The first part of fundamentals should be the fun!
