About Dr Thomas

I am Head of a University Psychology Department and a published researcher with over 15 years of experience teaching and supervising psychology students at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. My academic career has focused on research methods, statistics, and psychometrics, and I have supported hundreds of students through their dissertations, theses, and research projects—from topic development and design to data analysis and final write-up. About the lesson

I offer both face-to-face and online support for undergraduate, MSc and PhD students in psychology and related disciplines. My services include: • Dissertation/thesis supervision: from topic selection and research gap identification through to methodology, analysis, write-up and submission • Research methods and statistics consultation: including study design, power/sample size, quantitative analysis (SPSS, R), qualitative methods (thematic analysis, IPA, NVivo) • Essay, report and manuscript writing support: structure, style, logical coherence, critical analysis and clarity of argument • Professional proofreading & editing for academic assessments and journal-ready manuscripts • Formatting, reference management and APA 7th • Critical thinking and evidence appraisal: helping you interpret findings, draw meaningful conclusions and frame impact • Literature reviews, systematic reviews, & meta-analyses: searching, synthesising, identifying research gaps, organising reviews for clarity and rigour • Research proposals and ethics applications: planning, structuring, aligning questions, aims and methods • Quantitative data collection and analysis (e.g., correlation, regression, ANOVA, SEM, multi-level modelling, meta-analysis): from manual coding to software-based analysis; I guide you to ensure valid, reproducible results • Dissertation/thesis design and methodology: bespoke guidance on how to set up your study for success, including justification of methods • Academic poster presentations, PowerPoint creation and presentation support for coursework or conferences • PhD viva preparation: mock sessions, question preparation, strategies for handling defence questions
