About Matt
I am a bilingual IELTS tutor with over 5 years of teaching experience, originally from China and currently studying Social Work in Australia. My background as both a teacher and a language learner helps me understand the challenges students face—especially with speaking and writing. I scored 8.5 in IELTS and have supported over 150 students in achieving their target bands and studying abroad. I enjoy teaching because I love helping students express themselves with clarity and confidence, whether for academic, personal, or professional purposes. I aim to create a supportive, structured space where students feel safe to take risks and grow.

Our first session will start with a brief goal-setting conversation: What’s your IELTS target? What do you find most difficult—fluency, coherence, ideas, or timing? I will then tailor your lessons using actual IELTS topics, official assessment criteria, and my “structure + strategy + language” method.
For speaking, we’ll practise idioms, topic framing, fluency, and pronunciation. For writing, I will help you build strong paragraph logic, meet task requirements, and refine grammar and vocabulary.
You’ll get detailed feedback after each task and strategies to improve quickly. Lessons are suitable for intermediate to advanced learners preparing for IELTS, uni study, or workplace English.
