About Kate

I am an experienced, patient and understanding primary teacher who has been classroom based for 32 years and have a rich knowledge of Maths and English in the curriculum for all ages. I have taught years 1-6 in local schools and academies and also understand and have experience of the independent sector. I have resources and activities to suit all ages and abilities from children who find areas challenging to those who want to strive for further successes. My lessons will be fun and inspiring and I will do my very best to overcome the barriers of learning with you in a way that helps you to achieve success.

About the lesson

My lessons are a combination of concrete and abstract learning providing a deep rich understanding of number sense and problem solving. Whilst also having empathy I combine mathematical games and fun activities with concrete number work to ensure there is a solid foundation upon which to build upon. We go back to basics if needed to fill in the building blocks and identify areas of weakness. After that we work together to make rapid progress in readiness for the next steps whether it be entrance exam or otherwise. I am an empathetic listener and will work with you to help you be the best you can be.
