About Richard
Hello, I’m Richard, an experienced Sociology lecturer with 14 years of teaching experience in schools and further education across South Wales and Bristol.
I specialise in GCSE and A-Level Sociology and currently work as both a lecturer and an exam-board Team Leader. This means I not only teach the subject every day but also have a detailed understanding of how students are assessed and what examiners are looking for.
I decided to become a tutor because I enjoy working with students on a one-to-one basis. In the classroom, it isn’t always possible to give every learner the individual time they need, but tutoring allows me to focus entirely on one student, helping them overcome challenges, build confidence and achieve their full potential.
Whether you’re preparing for GCSEs, A-Levels or simply want extra support, my aim is to make Sociology interesting, understandable and enjoyable while helping you achieve the best grades you can.

As a Sociology lecturer with 14 years of teaching experience and an exam board Team Leader, I understand both how students learn and what examiners are looking for. I break down complex sociological theories into simple, memorable explanations before developing exam technique through regular practice questions and personalised feedback.
My lessons are relaxed, supportive and interactive, giving students the confidence to ask questions without worrying about getting things wrong. Whether you’re aiming to pass, improve by a grade or achieve an A or A*, I will work with you to build your knowledge, confidence and exam skills step by step.
Having taught online and face to face, I also ensure lessons are engaging, well organised and make full use of digital resources to support learning.
