About Ruhma

Hello! I'm Ruhma, a Sociology graduate from the London School of Economics (LSE) and a current Master's student at King's College London (KCL).
With over five years of tutoring experience, I have supported students across a range of abilities and backgrounds, helping many improve by 2–3 grades and achieve results they previously thought were out of reach. My experience spans private tuition and established tutoring platforms, giving me a strong understanding of how to adapt lessons to individual learning styles and goals.
I am passionate about education because I know how transformative the right support can be. Seeing students gain confidence, overcome challenges, and succeed academically is what motivates me most as a tutor.
As someone who has studied at two leading Russell Group universities, I bring both subject expertise and a genuine enthusiasm for Sociology. My aim is not only to help students achieve excellent grades but also to develop the confidence, critical thinking, and independent learning skills that will benefit them long after their exams.

About the lesson

I am a Sociology graduate from the London School of Economics (LSE) and a current Master's student at King's College London (KCL), with over 5 years of tutoring experience helping students achieve outstanding results.

My lessons are tailored to GCSE and A-Level students studying AQA, OCR, and Edexcel Sociology. I begin by identifying each student's current level, learning style, and academic goals before creating a personalised strategy designed to maximise progress.

Lessons typically last 60 minutes and focus on mastering sociological theories, studies, essay-writing techniques, and exam skills. Through active recall, model answers, exam practice, and detailed feedback, I help students develop the confidence and critical thinking skills needed to succeed.

Many of my students have improved by 2–3 grades and gone on to achieve their target results. I pride myself on creating engaging, supportive, and structured lessons that make challenging concepts easier to understand while building long-term academic confidence.

My goal is simple: to help every student realise their potential and achieve the best results possible.
