About Marissa
I am an experienced professional with a Master’s degree and a background working with children and families. I have experience teaching and supporting students in Special Education, which has given me valuable experience adapting instruction to meet different learning needs. I am patient, dependable, and committed to creating a positive learning environment where students feel supported and encouraged. I enjoy helping students develop their academic skills while building the confidence they need to become successful learners.

My teaching approach is patient, encouraging, and tailored to each student’s individual learning needs. I use clear explanations, examples, guided practice, and positive feedback to help students understand and apply new skills. A typical lesson begins with reviewing the student’s goals and identifying areas that need attention, followed by instruction, practice, and feedback. What sets me apart is my experience working with children and students in Special Education, which has taught me to adapt my approach to different learning styles and abilities. My lessons are designed for K–5 students who need support with reading, literacy, spelling, vocabulary, grammar, and essay or writing skills.
