About Zachary
My teaching philosophy is grounded in a growth mindset. I believe every student can improve their mathematical ability with the right support, clear explanations, and consistent practice. I focus on creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, working through challenges, and developing problem-solving skills step by step.
I have experience helping middle school and high school students strengthen their understanding of mathematics, including algebra, geometry, and exam preparation. I work closely with students to identify areas where they need support and tailor lessons to match their learning style and academic goals.
One of the most rewarding parts of tutoring is seeing students grow in confidence and achieve strong results on exams after putting in the effort and developing a deeper understanding of the material. My approach to tutoring focuses on clear explanations, step-by-step problem solving, and building strong foundational understanding. I believe students learn best when they understand why a method works, not just how to apply it. During lessons, I break down complex topics into manageable steps and encourage students to actively work through problems rather than simply watching solutions. This helps develop both confidence and independent problem-solving skills.
I tailor each lesson to the student’s needs. Some students need help reinforcing classroom concepts, while others want to prepare for exams, improve grades, or get ahead in math topics such as algebra, geometry, and problem solving. I also use practice questions, guided examples, and review of school assignments to ensure students fully understand the material.
Typical lessons last 60 minutes, though longer sessions can be arranged for exam preparation or intensive review.
My lessons are designed for middle school and high school students who want to strengthen their math skills, improve their grades, or gain confidence in the subject. I strive to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and tackling challenging problems.
