About Lisande

I am 35, been tutoring GCSE, A-level and IB Biology for 6 years. I have degrees in Business and quantitative management, Applied Medical Science (1st) and currently studying Medicine. Students have often achieved As and A*s and 6/7s in IB, A-level and GCSEs. I have experience in all education boards.

About the lesson

I mainly teach GCSE, A-level and IB students, however enjoy teaching all ages. I am enthusiastic and tutor because I enjoy it, and care about students reaching their potential and sometimes discovering a passion they never knew they had. I adapt the way I teach to suit the needs of the student. My first lesson is often an overall assessment to identify weaknesses and I then discuss a plan going forward, whether that is structured lesson plans covering all required areas or changing from lesson to lesson, to cover what the student is struggling with at that point in time. If you would prefer something else I am open to discussion. My main aim is to get you to reach your goals.

Lisande tutored my daughter Raiya for Algebra 1 in her freshman year of High School. My daughter has moderate dyscalculia (math dyslexia) and Lisande did a great job breaking down the problems and explaining things in a way she could understand. My daughter loved working with Lisande. Lisande is very organized and extremely professional. My daughter’s hardest subject used to be Math, but since working with Lisande Math is no longer scary. She got an A in Algebra 1 and is now taking Algebra 2 without tutoring and getting a B. I would highly recommend her for tutoring.

I can’t recommend Lisande highly enough.
She gave my teenage son help with Maths, she was firm but kind, she encouraged him, helped his confidence massively, he went from getting D’s to A’s in a matter of weeks and he ended up getting an A in his IGCSE maths. Lisande is a lovely, warm-hearted, compassionate person who is extremely conscientious about getting the best out of her students.
Lisande is particularly good with teenagers, she puts them at ease and they feel comfortable around her.
