About Shrey

I’ve had the privilege of tutoring several students at the GCSE and A level, helping them cultivate their potential and achieve their goals, with one of my students improving from a 4/5 grade in biology to a grade 9 in their exams. These experiences have instilled in me the confidence to bring out the best in every student I work with. Most recently, I had the opportunity to teach over 30 students in their AS maths exam preparation, guiding them towards success with personalised strategies and support, which I look forward to sharing with you too. My previous academic record includes getting 11 grade 9s at GCSE, A*A*A* at A level in Maths, Chemistry and Biology, attaining a 99th percentile UCAT score of 3210 and a BMAT score of 7.0, 7.5, 4A, as well as achieving gold in the Chemistry Olympiad. I was thrilled to have received offers from Oxford, Imperial, Bristol and Southampton to study medicine, and have started at Oxford. As a former Deputy Head Boy, I was fortunate to be able to mentor students at school on aspects of academics such as time-management, motivation, goal-setting and achieving success. Apart from academics, I contributed heavily to the school and local community, and was awarded the Service to the Community trophy. I look forward to the opportunity of guiding you towards a successful university application!

About the lesson

Having attained the highest GCSE and A-level grades, I understand exactly the exam techniques, content and revision strategies required for you to achieve your objectives. I will ensure you improve your skills towards approaching these exams with the right mindset and push you towards higher grades. My approach combines detailed explanation of practical advice, walkthroughs of exam technique, detailed feedback and realistic mocks to guarantee your success. Together we will refine your answers and build your confidence such that you will be prepared for those tricky questions. As someone who has successfully been through the rigorous medicine application process, I would be pleased to offer my knowledge to assist in your application. Having secured offers from top universities, I understand what medical school interviewers expect from a stellar candidate, and we will practise interview scenarios such that you will be prepared. My expertise extends from traditional interviews such as Oxford to MMIs and modern interview styles; we can work on all parts of the interview process from less comfortable role-play scenarios to ethical dilemmas. Each session is tailored to your needs, whether you are simply looking for feedback or need help refining your answers. With actionable advice and constructive feedback, we will work together to make sure you smash it on the day!

I would thoroughly recommend Shrey to anyone wanting to improve their chemistry, Biology or Maths. Shrey tutored my son for GCSE. We've tried loads of other tutors before, but they either made the lesson really boring or couldn't explain it simply enough for my son to understand. Shrey took the time explaining the subjects well in a motivating way, that even my ADHD son paid attention! He's very patient and made sure that the syllabus was covered using past questions to test my son on the previous lessons before. In addition he gave great advice on how to revise efficiency and effectively. The feedback after every class was also very insightful for my son and a good reminder on how to improve for the next class. Thanks so much Shrey, hope you'll be free for classes when Robin does his A levels and applies for Medicine.

Shrey is so patient and understanding! Your understanding of the topic is his number one priority and he is more than happy to explain a concept or tricky question more than once when needed. I would definitely recommend Shrey as he always adds trickier exam questions as an extra challenge which is really useful, since in the real thing the questions won't be as kind!
