About Askil
I graduated from a 3-year course at a Norwegian music school in 2014, with high marks. After that, I spent two years tutoring piano, vocals and guitar at Tromsø Music School. My main instrument is bass guitar, however. I've received professional lessons myself up until last Christmas, and I always strive to push myself as well as my students.
I'm currently studying Popular Music at Edinburgh Napier, receiving high marks in my first year, with my goal being to become a composer for TV and film.

I've been playing a variety of instruments within a variety of styles for the last decade or so - I went to high school at a Norwegian music school, receiving bass, piano and vocal lessons for years. I've played in a number of bands over the years, both as a bassist, keyboard player and vocalist, and have recorded and released 3 EPs and toured various Norwegian cities. In addition, I've tutored 7 students in guitar, piano, and vocals over the past couple years.
I teach anyone starting out on an instrument, or looking to get better than they already are. My lessons are down-to-earth, fun, and relaxed, yet I always keep the focus on working hard and getting better. I also incorporate music theory into my lessons in a natural way, so that the student can understand how it all fits into what they're learning at the moment.
It's important for me to know each student's strength and weaknesses, and focus my lessons accordingly. I always strive for the student to leave the lesson with a feeling of having mastered something new each time. My biggest assets as a tutor are patience, thoroughness, and persistence.
And don't worry - although I'm Norwegian, my English is fluent :)
