About Chun-Wei
I am a drummer and composer based in Glasgow. Aside from private tutoring, I have experience delivering weekly workshops to highschool classes as well as tutoring for the Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival.
Although my speciality is Jazz drumming, I also have plenty of experience playing other genres of music. I also offer lessons for those interested in learning through a graded system like Rockschool and teach music reading and rhythm theory.
I can travel to teach you or give lessons on zoom from my home studio. All ages and skill levels welcome!

Some of the topics I cover are learning to read, technique, understanding rhythms, playing with accompaniment.
If a graded system is something you would like to work through, I can teach with Rockschool or any other exam board syllabus (all grades) .
I also specialize in jazz drumming, some of the topics that I can cover are - basic swing groove, learning the language, transcription, big band playing, understanding different styles within Jazz music.
These topics are all flexible and can be discussed and arranged with students prior to or during lessons. I have had a lot of experience teaching in different settings - more on that can be found in the "about" section above.

Perfect! An encouraging and passionate tutor, with a lot of knowledge on music and technique to share. Provides a flexible teaching style which works towards attaining the student's goals.
Perfect! I can't go into great detail on Chun-Wei's style of teaching as it's my son that's getting the lessons. What I can pass on is the buzz that my son gets from his lessons that lasts for days afterwards. He is really enjoying the drum lessons and Chun-Wei has inspired him to regular practice (something kids often struggle with).
