About Willa
I am native Mandarin speaker from Shanghai with years teaching experience. I love teaching, it has always been the most enjoyable job for me. I started my teaching career in my early 20s, I completed the International Mandarin Teaching degree at Shaanxi Normal University China. I also further completed the advance course at City&Guilds and was awarded the IVQ Advanced Diploma in Teaching, Training and Assessing Learning (Chinese) in the UK.
I am also very experienced in teaching GCSE students, my GCSE students have achieved grade 8 and 9 in their Mandarin GCSE, which made me very proud.
I moved to the UK in 2014 with my family, and currently live in Harpenden. I have over 20 years teaching experience to both children and adult learners from beginner to advance levels.

I don't teach my students just according to the text book, I prepare unique tailored materials for individual learner by myself. I encourage my students to speak more than me. I set out strict work for students to complete after lessons, to make sure they have 15 minutes daily exercise on the language. I mix language and Chinese culture and custom into lessons to engage students' interests.
