I have my PhD in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and I am a Phi Beta Kappa undergraduate from the University of South Carolina. I have had research positions at the National Institutes of Health, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and the University of Missouri, and have ten first author manuscripts in high-impact journals. I have taught at the university and community college level. In addition to Varsity Tutors, I am currently an adjunct professor of Biology at a community college, teaching face-to-face courses as well as hybrid courses that are half virtual/online and half face-to-face in the classroom. I have recently received certification to instruct virtual/online courses as well. In addition, I am also presently employed by PCG education where I am currently tutoring at a High School in Richmond VA preparing Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II students for their SOLs. I also have been working as an Adjunct professor of anatomy and physiology at South University in Richmond in addition to an academic success Center tutor in the areas of Science and Mathematics I believe that everyone has their own unique learning styles, and I adjust my tutoring and mentoring to accommodate the learning style of each individual to ensure the optimum learning experience and effectiveness. Personally, my success as a tutor is only measured by the success of those I tutor in helping them achieve their goals
