About Abbie
I'm currently studying for my master's degree in Social Work at the University of York. I've been very involved with the music department throughout my undergrad, running the Concert Band and playing in the Jazz band. I’ve been a private music lesson teacher for six years, with pupils ranging in age from 5 years old to 24 years old and with some experience teaching individuals with additional needs. I love sharing my passion for music with people and would love to teach you!

Each lesson, we will look at some music theory and then apply that in a practical way on the instrument. The teaching style will be adapted to the pupil; younger children will often play games to learn about rhythm and pitch in a kinaesthetic way, whereas with older children and adults I may explain the theory in more detail in order to aid their learning. Lessons can be between half an hour to an hour and we can do targeted work to prepare for an exam or just learn for fun!
