About Aaron

Since graduating from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in 2014, I have been working as a professional freelance Cellist with various orchestras/ensembles and as a Cello and Piano teacher in the South Gloucestershire/Bristol area. As a teacher I have gained experience teaching all ages both privately and in schools where I have helped aid many students on their musical journeys, either through preparing for ABRSM exams where I have a 100% pass rate, or by enabling students to reach their own personal musical goals.

About the lesson

My lessons are always flexible and sensitive to the needs of each individual student whatever their musical goals may be. I'm a passionate believer in placing a strong emphasis on developing a foundation of technique whilst always providing a musical context for it. Too often students can be reluctant to practise scales, technical exercises etc as it can seem at times to be separated and irrelevant from their desire to learn a piece of music. However, I believe that by weaving aspects of instrumental technique, along with the equally vital principles of music theory and aural skills throughout the entire learning process, students are able to start to build connections between everything they do and ultimately give them the keys to unlock their full musical potential.

I only travel to students as I am unable to offer lessons from my home. Please note a £2.00 travel fee per lesson may be charged. I am also able to offer lessons online via Skype.
