About Adam
I have taught English over many years, in many settings- from secondary schools in Spain, to private lessons for adults face to face, and online. Apart from teaching english, I have also tutored younger children in preparation for various standardised tests (11+, 13+ and GCSEs; UK). I have also worked as a translator, copy-editor and copywriter, all whilst continuing on my academic path towards a PhD in Philosophy.

My teaching method is based on getting familiar with my students, their interests, and their learning objectives. Once I have a good idea of these, I focus on getting students themselves to talk, read, or write as much as possible, rather than listening to me go on and on. I also provide clear summaries on key points in grammar and vocabulary as they come up, and supplement lessons with written material aimed at particular weaknesses I identify during the course of teaching.
