About Luany
I am a PhD graduate in Sociology from Durham University and have been teaching in the UK since 2018. I am passionate about helping students achieve their academic and personal goals by creating engaging, supportive, and well-structured lessons.
I believe that learning goes beyond mastering a subject or a language. Alongside the curriculum, I enjoy introducing students to different cultures, societies, and perspectives, encouraging critical thinking and a broader understanding of the world. My aim is to make learning both meaningful and enjoyable while helping every student build confidence and reach their full potential.

My lessons are personalised to each student’s goals and learning style.
For Sociology, I focus on helping students develop a strong understanding of key concepts while building the analytical and essay-writing skills required for GCSE and A-Level examinations. Lessons are structured around exam requirements, with targeted practice, feedback, and strategies to help students achieve their best results.
For English as a Foreign Language (EFL), I use a practical, communicative approach that helps students gain confidence by learning through situations they encounter in their everyday lives. By using topics and vocabulary that are relevant to each learner, I make it easier for students to communicate naturally and use English in real-life conversations.
My aim is to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel confident to ask questions, make progress, and reach their academic or language-learning goals.
