About Thom
I have taught Science (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) at Durrington High School for 4 years, where I am KS4 Leader and am currently passing my 3rd set of Y11 students through their exams.
I aim to make learning as engaging as possible whilst focusing on key content needed to pass GCSE exams and building knowledge and engagement for future learning in the subject.
I have supported my students to strong grades in their exams during my time teaching and currently teach 3 Y11 groups all achieving well against their target grades.

I adapt my teaching to the needs of the individual student and make exam practice and technique a priority, whilst delivering engaging and focused sessions that give and build upon students' confidence in their own ability.
When discussing lessons, we can make sure that the approach will support the individual as best as possible.
I graduated Canterbury Christ Church University with a 2:1 (Hons) in Psychology, where content was 90% that of similar Biology qualifications at the University. I graduated with the Outstanding grade from University of Chichester (PGCE) and the South Downs SCITT (QTS) and have been taught research-led approaches to teaching by highly regarded practitioners. This allows me to make the most effective use of teaching time, consistently.
